The Most Honourable Andrew Holness established the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation (MEGJC) in 2016.  

The Ministry integrates all government agencies that are instrumental to Jamaica's growth and development.  Areas of focus include land, housing, urban renewal, environment, climate change, water, investment, and special projects, as well as works/infrastructure.

Three Million Trees In Three Years

This initiative, which was launched by Prime Minister, the Most Hon. Andrew Holness, seeks to plant three million timber and ornamental trees over three years, and expand forested areas, including public and private forests.

The Ministry’s goal is to formulate and implement policies relating to its portfolio areas. It plays a monitoring role to ensure adherence to the policies, and that the operations of its entities are in accordance with the Government of Jamaica’s guidelines and regulations.
